La Loma farm is located in the village of Agua Negra, Pitalito municipality, at an altitude of 1,650 meters above sea level. This farm is a family business operated by Rodrigo Sánchez Valencia, and the tradition of coffee production was started by Rodrigo's grandfather. Varieties such as Caturra, Variedad Colombia, Pink Bourbon, Pacamara, Laurina, and Gesha are grown on the 12-hectare area. Rodrigo purchased this farm in 2011 to experiment with processing methods and conduct coffee research.

The Caturra and Bourbon varieties were planted on the farm as part of an experimental program, and the seedlings were obtained from farmers in Central America. Rodrigo has two other farms besides La Loma, named Monteblanco and El Progreso, and the company called Aromas del Sur was established to manage these farms. In 2017, Rodrigo and his team established a tasting laboratory at La Loma to carry out operations such as sample roasting, product evaluation, and origin sourcing.

The Monteblanco farm was ranked first and second in the Yara Champion Program in 2017 and 2018, respectively, and won the Roasters United award in 2019.
